Map Artist
About the Role

We need Map Artists to build playable game maps as 3D environments.

You won't be designing the layout or deciding the art direction.
A Map Designer provides the gameplay blockout, a Concept Artist sets the visual direction and your job is to bring it all to life in 3D.

Freelance, commissioned per map.
Map creation is infrequent — we're building a roster of environment artists we can reach out to when new maps go into production.

Our art style is hand-painted. No PBR.
If the pipeline is new to you, we'll walk you through it.

Payment Model

Maps are paid as a fixed commission agreed before production, split among the three pipeline roles:

Map Designer: 15%
Concept Artist: 15%
Map Artist: 70%

A popularity bonus based on sustained player engagement after the first month may also apply. Details are being finalized.

Terms may change in the future but anything already agreed upon stays as-is.

Application Task

Submit a proof-of-concept map.
It doesn't need to be fully detailed or final. We want to see how you handle layout, flow and scale.

Hand-painted only. PBR is not allowed. AI use is strictly forbidden.

We strongly recommend Blender (.blend preferred).
Maya and 3DS MAX are also accepted.

Include all files needed to view the piece.
Explain your workflow and tools.
Tell us about your level design or environment art experience.

  • Touchdown — two team bases with connecting lanes
  • Chaser — enclosed arena with elevation changes and cover
  • Deathmatch — open space with multiple engagement zones
