The purpose of this suggestion is to act as a Chaser expansion. These are some of the ideas that I feel will refresh the mode.
Chaser’s always been one of my favorite modes to play. Though, lately, it seems I can only find 1-3 chaser rooms (Outside event days, which I'm aware, can have like 5-7 packed chaser rooms) in the lobby, and I understand why. After a while, it can start to feel predictable. I’ve been thinking of ways to spice it up while keeping the original Chaser feeling intact. So, here are a few ideas that could add variety while still keeping the game mode's integrity intact:
1.Twin Chaser Mode [Optional Variant/Mode inside the Chaser game-mode]
Instead of one super strong Chaser, imagine two weaker Chasers working together.
To balance it: each Chaser will have reduced HP & damage compared to the normal "juggernaut" version, so it’s not impossible for survivors/runners. This way, runners/survivors would have to watch their positioning a lot more carefully, since they can’t just gang up on one target.
For Survivors/Runners:
-Teamwork and map awareness become way more important, because all it takes is one wrong turn and you’re running straight into the second Chaser.
-Survivors who normally just stall or jump around now have to play mind games: split the Chasers apart, bait them into a corner to send them flying off the map, or become distractions/bait themselves so the team doesn’t get cornered.
For the Twin Chasers:
-Chasing in pairs adds a new layer of coordination. One Chaser can chase after the runners while the other cuts off escape routes.
-With two chasers on the field, survivors lose their “safe zones,” making every corner feel dangerous and every decision feel heavier.
2.Dark Zone [A New Map For the Mode]
The Dark Zone takes the classic Chaser formula and twists it into a high-stakes survival horror. Here, vision and stamina become weapons AND liabilities.
For Runners:
-SP is Life: Runners are obligated to use their SP to stay alive. If they stand still too long or refuse to run, their health will gradually drain, revealing their location and/or leaving them vulnerable or even dropping dead if they ignore it.
-Proximity Reveal: Lingering too close to the Chaser for too long causes you to become visible for a short duration, making risky hiding spots near the Chaser a gamble.
-Limited Vision with Teammates: Teammates are only visible within a certain range, forcing runners to move smart and communicate instead of relying on constant visibility.
For the Chaser:
-SP Glow Tracking: Whenever survivors burn SP (running, dodging, wall-jumping), they give off a brief glow, giving the Chaser short bursts of information without permanent "wallhacks".
-Chaser’s Advantage: The Chaser thrives in the darkness. Survivors can’t camp or abuse proximity tricks. This makes every movement, every mistake, every desperate sprint a trail leading back to them.
3. Last Stand [A new feature for the Chaser game-mode]
When the round reaches its final runners, the stakes are at an all-time high, this is the moment where the hunted flip the script. Last Stand gives runners a late-game boost that makes the ending more dramatic and hype instead of an almost guaranteed mop up for the Chaser.
For Survivors:
-Health Boost: Extra HP to survive just a bit longer, giving them one more chance to make clutch plays.
-Damage Buff: Melee hits now sting, forcing the Chaser to respect and be cautious around every survivor that’s left standing.
-Super Knockback: Bats and other impact attacks send the Chaser flying even further.
For the Chaser (Minor Counterbalance):
-As survivors power up, the Chaser gains a slight speed increase or faster recovery time to stay in the chase. Survivors hit harder, but the Chaser can re-engage quicker.
-This ensures the endgame isn’t unfair. Survivors feel powerful, but the Chaser still has tools to finish the job if they stay sharp.
The Result:
Survivors don’t just feel like helpless prey at the end. They get a final surge of pride, resistance, and hype moments.
The Chaser, instead of an easy cleanup, now faces a true cinematic finale that’s way more satisfying for both sides.
Let me know what you think. I'm always open for constructive criticism.
kthxbye.
That’s what I was thinking too. Voice chat/proximity VC would really add to the tension and make modes like these way more immersive. Imagine the panic when someone whispers “he’s here” in the Dark Zone, or the last survivors hyping each other up during Last Stand. If Chaser ever gets a proper overhaul with both gameplay tweaks + VC support, I honestly think it could feel like a whole new experience.
