They say love is found in the most unexpected places. Mine was found somewhere between the respawn timer and the chat box.
He wasnβt the hero youβd expect. His name was Ahmedpop. Level 21, half naked, zero achievements, and a KD so bad it could make grown men cry. His English? Rough. His aim? Rougher. But his heart? Oh, it was golden.
I first met him when he waved at me in lobby... while our mates are telling him to rejoin, knowing he would never get a spot again. Everyone flamed. I almost joined in. But then he typed: "no warri team, i go s4 love". I didnβt know what it meant. I still donβt. But it touched me.
Midway through the game, we were down 0-8. Spirits were low. Then, out of nowhere, Ahmedpop typed: "np beby, np we win"
Something about that broken sentence, that unshakable optimism, it made me believe.
Then it happened. The moment I knew. Our entire team was dead. He had 10 HP. He picked up the ball with the determination of a thousand warriors, stopped for 2 seconds and typed in the chat: "np beby trust".
He ran to rampβalone. Five enemies waited like hungry wolves. They jumped him, stunned him, bonked his head like a carnival hammer. It was over before it began.
But as his dead avatar faded into neo green smoke on the ground, he said again: "np beby. next game win, np."
Tears. I swear, I teared up.
He was no knight in shining armor. He was more like a potato in tinfoil. But he was my potato. Brave. Clueless. Pure.
And somewhere between the loss streaks and the broken grammar, I fell in love. With Ahmedpop.
No skills. No kills. But all heart.
